Worried about child safety? No worries, we've got your back!
At the minimum, each leader, or anyone considered a 'helper', has to undertake the following:
Take, and pass, BSA provided 'Youth Protection Training' (free online training, provided by the BSA.)
Pass a criminal background check. (Fee currently paid by the Pack)
Much more detailed information can be found on the main 'BSA Youth Protection' page.
In addition to the mandatory youth protection training, each Leader can take (for free, online BSA provided) additional position specific training; examples are Den Leader, Cubmaster etc, or 'advanced' classroom and practical training such as 'Basic Adult Leader
Adults who pass these are then eligible to wear the 'Trained Leader' patch. All Cub Scout Pack 333 leaders are considered 'Trained Leaders'.
More information can be found on the main 'BSA Training For Adults' page.
