Keeping in the spirit of changing things up, Pack 333 went West to the John Bryant State Park for their Spring Camp Out. We were able to reserve two fantastic sites within the BSA Tecumseh Council's Camp Hugh Taylor Birch campsite.
Our previous site visit the month prior really paid off. A few leaders, and parents, arrived Friday night to not only camp another night, but to setup early and have some leader & adult fellowship before the main camping program kicked off.
The weather wasn't up to our usual standards though; it rained Friday night into Saturday, but cleared up after that.
No real programming was planned: just really turn up, hang out, and have fun. Some people went hiking in the nearby John Bryant State Park, taking in parts of the North Rim & South Gorge Trail (need to go back there..). Some people went fishing. Some people whittled. Most of all, everyone had fun!
Usual campfire program took place on Saturday night with rank awards being handed out towards the end. Our 4 current 5th graders were awarded their Arrow Of Light rank awards too, ready for crossover later in the year; one of them was our second only girl to earn the AOL rank, but also more importantly our first girl with plans to crossover into a Troop. Yey!
Our AOL Cubs helped to run a flag retirement ceremony after the campsite. It was a very solemn event, the first for many cubs & parents alike. The left-over flag grommets were presented, with ashes, to the leaving parents of the AOL Cubs.
Not many photos, everyone was too busy having fun, but added here for prosperity.
(seeking more photos if anyone has any..)
