One of the benefits of being in the Webelos den (4 & 5th grade) is being able to camp as a den, rather than with the whole pack.
So we arranged a February weekend camp-out at Camp Falling Rock ('CFR') for our combined Webelos & AOL dens, with the intention of camping out, having fun, and earning a few outstanding awards; mainly Webelos First Responder and the soon to be retired 'Looking Back Looking Forward' & 'Project Family'.
However, things didn't work out as expected..
Two weeks out, we are informed that the lower field has no water therefore our reservation for Sequoia Lodge had to be changed to Bauman. Not an issue..adapt and overcome challenges. No issue for us.
Literally an hour before leaving on Friday, we received a call saying 'Due to overnight storms, CFR is flooded with all access roads being impassable, therefore all camping has been cancelled'
With 20 people due to leave soon, this put us in a bind.
But, we found a solution! One of the leader's dad owns a bunch of warehouses, and we were offered the use of one for an 'indoor outdoor camp-in'!
Quick regroup, and everyone meets up early Saturday morning for a full day of fun, food, and fellowship. No-one wanted to camp-in overnight though, but thats ok. Everyone enjoyed it, and that was the main part.
Few photos:(was too busy to take any more..)
