The Webelos put on a 'Cub Scout Paralympic Games' for the Pack. The pack was split up into 5 different groups (aka Scouting Patrol Method), and rotated around the following stations, each with tasks to carry out demonstrating a particular disability.
General Impairment: Cubs had to select specific textured & shaped objects from a basket while blindfolded.
Depth Perception: Dropping clothes pegs, at arms length, into small baskets while looking up at the ceiling
Vision Impairment: Pictionary on a white board, while wearing very smeared and blurry construction goggles.
Physical Impairment: Tying different notes while wearing oven mitts.
Hearing: Charades!
Fun was had by all
Our first in-person pack meeting since COVID-19! Great to see everyone back and meeting as one group.
This Pack meeting combined two things:
1) Visit from the Worthington Fire & Police Departments
2) Popcorn tasting for the up-coming sales!
The Cubs practiced setting up tents, tying knots, and sampling popcorn for the upcoming sales event.
We also had a special guest from the Worthington Police Department join us. Officer Root spoke to the Cubs about community policing, and gave them a tour of his Police cruiser. Thanks Officer Root and the Worthington Police Department!
Full house for the initial kick off meeting. 65 registered Cub Scouts, up from 45 last year. It's going to be a fun year!
A short video reviewed last years activities. Parents were given an overview of the Cub Scout program, upcoming activities including the PopCorn sale, all while the Cubs played on the playground!
This pack meeting was the first pack meeting post summer recruitment drive where we gained an enormous amount of new members: 65 in total (up from last year of 10). This meeting formed the basis of the resurgence of Pack 333.
